About:China Transit Visa

Do I need a Transit visa in Shanghai Pudong with a Philippine passport / resident in New Zealand

I have a valid Resident permit in New Zeaaland but i have a philippine passport. I am travelling back to Philippines and have a Lay over in Shanghai Pudong Airport for 19 hours. Do I need a visa in order to get out of the Airport? Hopefully someone could help and give some advice.

Hi, you can use the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, no transit G type will be needed. Just apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport. Afterwards, you can leave the airport to explore the city.
