Entry in and out of China

Hello

I hope to enter china via Hong Kong by rail. I will then be spending some time in southern China before exiting by rail via Dong Dang. I will be applying for a tourist L visa. Is this possible as all the information I have read says that you need an in and out air ticket.

David, you can do it because both the train ticket and the air ticket are fine for the application.
