USA citizen in Egypt applying for China Z visa

I am a USA citizens currently in Egypt. I have been offered a job in China and need to use the China embassy in Egypt. Will this be a problem because I am not in my home country?
Also, I have my degree authenticated by my state, but does anyone know if I need it authenticated by the US federal government? I read online that this step may be required for certain embassies or consulates.

Albert, you can try to apply for Chinese work Z type in Egypt. It may work.
The degree needs to be notarized by the local notary public, county clerk and secretary of state, and then get it authenticated by Chinese embassy in your home country.
