About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Can I get a temporary residence permit with a F-Visa?

Hi, I am going to Guangzhou, China with an F-type for 2 months. In the meantime, if I have a work contract there can I apply for a temporary residence permit with the F-type ? Or do I need to come back India for Z-type and apply for the residence permit? Thanks in advance.

You cannot get a temporary residence permit with the F type.
You can try to change your current F type to a work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can succeed, you don’t need to go back to your home country for that.
