About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hours in Beijing > 48 hours in Shanghai. Do I need visa?

I plan to travel from Finland to Beijing for 72 hours, then from Beijing to Shanghai for 48 hours, then to the US. Since Shanghai is in a different region from Beijing, I would qualify for both the 72 hour stay in Beijing without visa and then the 144 hours in Shanghai without visa. Is this correct?

No, Carol, Shanghai and Beijing are in the same country, so you cannot use the 72 hour free transit and 144 hour free transit.
