About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I do Singapore-Guangzhou-Singapore as a british passport holder living in Singapore

Or must I fly to another country after Guangzhou? I want to go there for 48 hours for a couple of meetings

If you want to do the trip on a visa-free transit, then you have to be in transit to a third country. SIN-CAN-SIN isn't a transit so you need a Chinese visa for that.
