About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

2 days of business in Shanghai

My business partner and I plan to fly into Shanghai Pudong Airport from Hong Kong the evening of May 23rd and plan to fly out of Shanghai Pudong Airport the evening of May 25th on our way to Seoul. Will we qualify for the 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit? We assume this will allow us to conduct business for two days outside the airport in the city of Shanghai.

If so, do we apply in Shanghai Pudong Airport once we arrive and is the process long and available 24 hours a day?

Yes and yes. The length of the line will depend on the time of arrival. At most it will take up to two hours because they only have a few counters dedicated to travelers in transit.
