Traveling from the US to Beijing and Shanghai

Traveling from the US to Beijing and Shanghai for 8 days. What is the process to get the necessary Visa? Thank you.

First, you should prepare your passport and copy of its data page, the completed application form attached with a passport-style photo, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation.
Next, submit the application to the Chinese consulate.
