About:Chinese Consulate in New York

Hello, I had a Z type in china and overstayed.

I already paid the fine and they said since it was the first offense it was no problem, just the fine. I am back in the USA in New York. What type of visa should I apply for? I had to leave china and my diploma is still there so I can't get it.

Also, I am a USA resident of North Carolina, so the NYC consulate is not my district. However, it is the only convenient consulate. Can I still go there?
Thanks,

If so, you can try to apply for a tourist L visa for China to get your diploma back.
If you live in North Carolina, you should make the application from Embassy of PRC in Washington DC.

You can also apply for a duplicate diploma from your university.
