About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Transfer to bus at Shanghai Pudong Airport for Hangzhou? or Take metro & train?

Hi: I am arriving on China Eastern at 17:15, and my itinerary says to take BUS Bus Surface Transportation to Hangzhou -- 3.5 hours. Is it better to go to Hangzhou by bus or train? Can I take Metro train (is that Maglev) to Hongqiao, then high speed train to Hangzhou? Or is it better to take the long-distance bus? Is there a toilet on that bus?

You are advised to take a high speed train at Hongqiao Station, which will be faster than the direct coach. Upon arrival, you need to take the metro line 2 to the Hongqiao Railway Station. It’s not the maglev and it will take about 1.5 hours. Then you may take the high speed train to East Hangzhou Station. The duration is around 1 hour.
By the way, there is no toilet on the direct coach. However, there are the washrooms at the service areas where the driver will stop.

HI. Thank you! So, if I arrive at PVG at 17:15 I can take Metro line 2 to Hongqiao then purchase a train ticket to Hangzhou at Hongqiao station? Will there be any problems in getting a seat on a train to Hangzhou?

Don’t worry. The ticket is sufficient and you can buy the ticket at the station. Alternatively, you can book it online in advance. You can ask a Chinese friend to help you.

Hi Anna! I have a ticket like this leaving in 2 days. Can you tell me what you ended up doing? Did you take the coach or the bus?
