i hold turkish passportwant to explore the city during my 16hr layover

Hello!I leave in US on a work visa and willing to layover in shangai before my final destination to Tokyo. Do I need to get visa in advance if I want to explore the city during my 16hr layover? Or can I arrange it(purchase) in Shangai airport? Turkish passport does not qualify free transit.

Ozan, if so, I think you are able to enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. No visa will be needed then. If you want to leave the airport, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge at the immigration office inside Shanghai airport.
