About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

We are a family of 4 that will be flying into HongKong and then busing to Guangzhou.

We will probably arrive in Guangzhou at about 1PM one day and will be flying out of Guangzhou the next day at midnight. Is there a visa that we can apply for that is not as expensive as the regular visitors L type that costs $NZ 140 plus handling?

Margaret, maybe you can book a tour from a travel agency and then apply for a group tourist L type. It may cost less then.
Or you can fly to Guangzhou from HK, and then fly to New Zealand or a third country/region instead of HK. In this case, you can use the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou. No need to apply for a visa then.
