Transit in Beijing for 10hours

I have a transit flight to Osaka and will have a transit time in Beijing for 10hours. I'm a Malaysian and while transiting I would like to walk around Beijing.

Karen, you don’t need to apply for a visa. You are qualified for the 24 hour direct transit. You just need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office inside Beijing airport, and then you can go to the city for a visit.
