I am travelling to HKG and would like to go via Shanghai for 24 hours will I need a transit visa?

I am UK Passport Holder.

If you travel like UK-Shanghai (24 hours)-HK, you don’t need to apply for a transit visa. You are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit.
