About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

We have New Zealand Passports and are resident in Australia.

We will be flying into Hong Kong end August 2017 to visit friends. Previously it was possible to obtain a tourist visa while in Hong Kong to visit friends in mainland China and Hainan, is this still possible? Also is it possible to plan our own hiking tour (two persons) in the Chengdu region without using a Tour Company? Thank you.

Yes, Alan, it's still possible to get a Chinese tourist L type in HK.
You can plan your own hiking tour in the Chengdu region without finding a tour company.
