does US citizen need a visa to transit through Beijing?

My daughter (8 years old) a US citizen traveling from Mongolia to USA. The flight has 20hour layover in Beijing. I'm wondering if she needs transit or regular visa or nothing?

Bagi, she doesn’t need a visa for China because she is eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing.
