About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Mainland China to Hong Kong then back to Beijing for a flight to Kuala Lumpur

Hi, we are uk passport holders and have already had our single entry visas approved. We have a few spare days and would like to visit Hong Kong but already have a prebooked flights in (7th April) and out (28th April) of Beijing. I hope I am right in thinking we will be able to leave China to go to hong kong for a few days and then upon reentering Beijing be granted a 72hour transit visa? If anyone can help I also have a few questions, Do we have to enter beijing by plane or could it be by the bullet train? On a 72 hour free transit are you allowed to leave the airport? Would we be granted the 72 hour free transit at all as it would be our second time entering China?

Hi Elizabeth, you can use the 72-hour free transit in Beijing, but the condition is that you must take a plane from HK to Beijing. During the 72 hours, you are allowed to leave the airport.
