About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Extension of China Visa

Hi, we have a double entries type. We first entered China about 1 month ago and we are going to extend this for another 30 days.

1. We will be leaving China after the expiry of the extension and intend to return later (before the expiry of the double entry permit). Would this renewal invalidate our second entry?
2. How many times can we extend it in China?

Thank you.

Helen, the renewal will not affect your second entry, and you can extend it in China at most twice after one entry.

Hi Alex, thanks for your reply. I just submitted my extension application at the PSB. You are right that it will not affect the second entry.

However, I was informed by the officer that as my original visa was double entries with 30 days each, I can only extend it once. Thereafter i must exit china and can reenter with the second entry. I could extend twice (30 days each) if I was granted a double entries with 60 days initially.
