About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi there, I need to book a ticket ammsterdam-shanghai-amsterdam.

I will stay in Shanghai only for 4 days and I do not have a onward ticket, but just a return ticket ams-shanghai-ams. Can I apply for the 114h free free transit or do I need a visa?

If you want to cheat the system, try Amsterdam-Shanghai-Paris/London/Brussels etc. AMS-PVG-AMS is NOT transit.
