About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

German Citizen with flight Malaysia - Shanghai - HK - Germany

I am departing from Kuala Lumpur on April 21st and arrive in Shanghai on 22nd at 4am. I would stay until the 27th in Shanghai and have a connecting flight via HK to Germany. Would the 144-hour visa apply for this trip?
Thank you.
