About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would I still be entitled to the 72 hour free transit in Beijing?

Hi, I am flying Sydney to Beijing to Amsterdam. There is a short stop (few hours) in Shenzhen on the way to Beijing where I need to change planes. Would I still be entitled to the 72 hour free transit in Beijing?

I heard it might not be the case as I arrive on a domestic flight, even though it is just a transit in Shenzhen.

You are not allowed 72 hours transit without visa. You are limited to a maximum 24 hours direct transit in China.
