About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I travel internally between cities within the 72-Hour waiver period?

I am entering Shanghai from London on 13th April, flying to Qingdao on 14th April, and then leaving Qingdao for Bangkok on 15th April. Is this allowed under the 72 Waiver if I have all flights pre-booked? Thanks

That's a big no-no. The rule clearly states you cannot leave the area indicated on the temporary entry permit. But in your case, you'll be denied boarding by your airline.
