Hi, I'm writing a research paper on internal migration China and I can't find any information on how a Chinese national from a rural area can obtain a *temporary residence certificate* in a big city like Beijing or Shanghai. Could you direct me to any resources? I would like to find out how much it costs and what documents a person would need in order to obtain this certificate.

The needed documents include: ID card, recent photo, accommodation details, work or study proofs at local. It costs none.
