Do I need to buy the Shanghai Maglev ticket ahead of time?

I am picking up my family at Pudong Airport and want to return to downtown area using the Maglev line. Do I need to buy the Maglev ticket ahead of time or can I just buy it when we need it?
The uncertainty of how long it takes to clear customs and variation in flight time makes it easier to wait until they arrive. Thanks

No, you don't need to book the tickets online in advance.
You can buy the ticket when you arriving at the station, which is the same as the metro ticket. Generally speaking, there will have enough tickets for passengers. Don't worry.
