visit visa to work type

Question

I have visit L type of chongqing, and In April, 2017, will get my documents/invitation letter/work permit etc., to work as post doctorate in Chongqing University. Can I apply within china to convert my Visit L type into z-type (Work type)? or I need to travel back my country?Please clarify and explain in view of latest immigration policies. many thanks,Farrukh

Dear, it's possible to change your L type to Z type in the exit and entry administration of PSB in the city where you currently lives in. You can first have a try. If rejected, you need to go back to your country to do the application.
