About:China Visa

My husband & I are both US citizens. We will arrive in Pudong International Airport, Shanghai

on March 16 from the Philippines. We will be going on a cruise that starts from Wusungkou Cruise Terminal in Shanghai on March 17-22, 2017 going to Busan, South Korea & Kumamoto, Japan. We will be departing from Pudong International Airport on March 22, 2017. I just want confirmation we are eligible for the 144-Hour Visa Free Transit. Please advise what we need to do to once we get to the airport.
Also, do you know if we need a yellow fever vaccination or certificate? As mentioned, we will be coming from the Philippines. I was told as long as we're not coming from Brazil, Aruba & other countries from South America, we don't need it. Please confirm as well. Thanks.

Teresita, if so, you will be able to use the free transit in Shanghai, but you may be required to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the airport if your total layover is less than 24 hours.
When you return to Shanghai on March 22, if you stop there for less than 144 hours, and then fly to a third country or region instead of Japan, you can enjoy the free transit.
Usually, the yellow fever vaccination certificate may not be needed.
