About:Marriage Registration in China

British passport holder married to Chinese girl.

Good afternoon,
I am British, married to a Chinese girl (Official Chinese marriage) and have been for two years.
Presently hold a Foreigners permit as I am working in China and have been for past 6 years. Intend to retire in immediate future (I am 65).
Can you please give me plan for changeover from working visa to marriage visa as we intend to remain in China indefinitely.
Many thanks.

Cliff, you should first prepare the required documents including your passport, the application form, a bare-headed color photo, valid registration form of temporary residence, an invitation letter from your wife and copy of her Chinese ID card, as well as your marriage certificate. Next, go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to change the work Z type to spouse Q1 type.
