About:China Tourist Visa

16 hours in Shanghai do i need a visa

I am traveling from Hong Kong Via Taiwan & Japan on a cruise ship,we are going to be in Shanghai 16 hours & Carrying on to Japan ,do i need Tourist L type ,for my visit ,or can you advise me ,Thank you M LEA .

If your travel route is HK-Taiwan-Japan-Shanghai-Japan, you need to apply for a tourist L type in advance for that.

Thank you for sending me a reply,i have been able to get around the visa by booking a ships tour in Shanghai ,i will then be covered by the group Visa,
I was also informed by the cruise company that if i didn't get a visa ,i could stay onboard & pay an admin fee to the ship ,
