About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Flying to Seoul via qingdao

Hi

I am flying to qingdao from Australia on the 4th April 2017. After arrival I will be flying to Seoul (Korea) for 5 days then coming back to qingdao and flying back home (Australia).

Will I be eligible for this visa? Do I just let the person know at the counter that I want to take advantage of this 72 hour free transit?

Yes. You just need to present a outbound ticket when boarding and to the immigration officer.

Hi, thanks for this.

Can I ask that I'm eligible with a return flight to qingdao after visiting Seoul?

Sorry I haven't booked my flights yet and was wondering whether I should get a return flight or one way each way - would that matter?

It doesn't matter if your flights are one-way or return, or on different airlines. What matters is the stops immediately before and immediately after Qingdao. If you are on the direct Melbourne-Qingdao flight then MEL-TAO-SEL-TAO-MEL is fine for 72 hours in Qingdao. But if your flight from Australia makes another stop in China then you would be limited to 24 hours in China.

Thanks for your response, leo!
Can I also ask when I come back from Seoul to Qingdao at10am (on the 11th April) and will be flying out to Melbourne later that night at 6pm - will I be able to leave qingdao airport then come back for my flight that night (will I be eligible for that 72 hour visa again)?
Apologies for the million and one questions but i am trying to work out how to plan my holiday.

Yes, on your return you will be given 24 hours direct transit and you can leave the airport if you want to.
