Transfer S1 to Z Visa?

I came to Shanghai on S1 type (converrted to a temporary residence permit) to accompany my husband who came under Z type to work. What do I need to do to transfer my residence permit to a Z type so I can work here?

EK, you should find a job first, and then your employer can get you the relevant documents to convert the S1 type to work Z type. You need to provide your passport, the application form, a passport-sized color photo, valid registration form of temporary residence, work permit and an invitation letter of a duly authorized unit.

I have a possible job offer. Is this something that can be done without me having to leave China and re-enter? How do I provide a work permit when I am applying to get one?

Your employer will get the work permit for you; you cannot get it on your own. You can probably convert the S1 type to Z type within China.
