About:China Transit Visa

Hello! Here is my flight Frankurt - Beijing - Ho Chi Minh City (transit in Beijing for 9 hrs)

and return (transit in Beijing for 15 hrs). I intend to go for transit tour in China (for example visiting The Great Wall) during the transit. But I didn't decide whether to go in the first trip or the return trip. Anyway, in this case, do I need to apply for a visa? I'm a Vietnamese passport holder and also have a valid temporary Belgian ID card as an international student.

Pham, no, you don’t need to apply for it. You will be eligible for the 24 hour direct transit for both legs of your trip in Beijing. You just need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at Beijing airport and then you can visit the Great Wall.

Hello! Thanks a lot for your prompt reply! What if I want to go around myself, without any organized tour. Am I able to apply for that temporary stay permit? Or it has to be an organized tour with detailed planning?

Yes, you can still apply for the temporary stay permit when you go alone. No need to join an organized tour.
