About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Does the 144-hour rule apply?

I am Ukrainian. Will travel from Ho Chi Minh to Shanghai to have a meeting and then to Kuala Lumpur. 26/02 Ho Chi Minh to Shanghai, 27/02 Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur. Does the 144-hour rule work?

BTW Do I need to buy a single ticket, so that Shanghai is shown as a transit city, or two separate tickets are ok?
