About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am a Ukrainian citizen. I have bought a ticket to Shanghai (through Xiamen).

I will fly to Shanghai on 26/02, stay in Xiamen for 9 hrs (layover) and fly to Shanghai (arrival still 26/02). In Shanghai I will stay one day and fly back to Saigon on 27/02. Do I need the entry permit?

I read that the airports adhere to the 72-hour and 144-hour rule, so hope I did not make a mistake.

Thank you in advance for the answer.

Mike, as you will have stopovers in both Xiamen and Shanghai, so sorry that the 72 or 144 hour free transit is not applicable to you. So where do you fly from to Shanghai? If it's not a part of Vietnam and your total layover in China is not more than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24h direct transit policy. If you do not meet the requirements, you need to apply for a transit G type in advance.
