Pam, it depends on your itinerary. Where will you go to see pandas? If you will go to Chengdu, you can take a flight from HK to Chengdu and fly out to Macau after three days, you can enjoy the 72hrs free transit in Chengdu. Considering the tickets are expensive for HK-Chengdu Flight, you can also choose to apply for a visa in advance.
