catching sunrise at jinshanling great wall

Hi, is it possible to catch sunrise since the opening hours is 8:00-17:00? Are we allowed to get in before the opening hour? what time is the best to catch sunrise? Is there any hotel that in walking distance so we dont have to ride anything to the gate in the early morning?

Kara, you are advised to spend a night at Jinshanling Hotel inside the scenic area and near the ticket check point. In this way, you might have a chance to see the sunrise.If you go there in March, you may need to get up before 6:30 to catch the sunrise.
