About:China Private Visit Visa

Tourist to to S1

Hello,

My husband is in the process of getting his Work Visa and REesidence permit. Is it possible for me to go on a tourist L type and change it to S1 once he gets his residence permit in China?

If so, what is the procedure ? Do I need to leave the country ( HK for example) or I can do it in China?

It's possible to do so, but I should say it's just possible. If you want to stay for a long time in China, you had better apply for an S1 directly in your country. Anyway, if you enter China with an L type, you can change it to an S1 before the L type expires at the local exit and entry administration by showing your passport, application form, recent photo, temporary residence registration form, and a copy of your busband's passport and temporary residence permit.
