Aus travelling from thailand

I am an australian citizen travelling from thailand to shanghai then flying back to thailand. Staying 3 nights. Do i need a visa?

Hi Simon! You need it. Because your route is not a valid transit, you cannot enjoy the 72hrs free transit.
