About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

frankfurt chengdu japan

Philippine passport holder will travel to japan and have 9 hours layover in chengdu china. Do i need a transit visa before we arrive in chnegdu for a sightseeing or we can ask it at the airport in chengdu. And if ever i will not go out from the airport do i still need the visa?

Eva, no, you don’t need a transit G type for that because you will qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in Chengdu. If you want to leave the airport, you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office inside Chengdu airport.
