About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong-Beijing-Macau

I am studying abroad in Hong Kong (from the US) and currently have a student visa for Hong Kong. My mom is coming to visit in a month from the US and we wanted to check out Beijing for only a couple days (about 72 hours) and head to Macau afterwards. Would we both be able to use the 72 hour free transit without a visa?

Yes, it's possible. But be sure to book non-stop flights HKG-PEK-MFM. For example, you should be on an Air Macau non-stop flight for PEK-MFM, and not Xiamen or China Eastern flights that make a stop in China.
