im landing with hainan then 1hr 40 layover transferring to hainan for haikou ,

I would like to visit some friends at the airport, will I have to go through security again or can they come where i'm at ?

I guess you will transfer from international to domestic, right? Well, if you wanna meet your friends, you have to exit the immigration first. Then security check is needed when you recheck in for the domestic flight.
