About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

British Passport holders

We plan to go to Hong Kong for couple of weeks, then catch a train to Shanghai and stay for 6 days, then return to UK direct from Shanghai. Do we qualify for the examption144 hr Visa?

Yes, you qualify for the 144hrs free transit and you need to apply for it at Shanghai Railway Station.
