am i allowed to leave airport?

I am transiting in Shanghai pudong airport for 15 hours. From auckland to India one way trip. Can I leave the airport to go in the city? If yes than is it free of charge or do I have to pay the charges to come back again to the airport? And how much approx.? Could you please help in this regards. Thanks

Yes. There's no charge, but you'll need to pay for the transportation.
