About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

If I am going from San Francisco to Japan and have a 14 hour layover in Beijing in between

will I qualify for the 72 hour visa? Do I need to do anything in advance before my trip? Or from what I understand I just need to notify the airport when I land in Beijing? What documents do I need to provide? and does it cost money?

Ashlee, you qualify for it and you don't need to do anything in advance. You can just notify the airport when you land in Beijing by showing your passport and onward flight ticket. It doen't cost money.
