About:China Work Visa

My employer told me that I will travel to Hong Kong and meet him there

so we can go (along with others) to issue my Z visa at the local Imigration office. Everywhere on the web it states that the Visa should be issued before I leave the US. What am I missing here? Thank you for your help.

George, when you have HK residence permit, you can go there to try to apply for a work Z type, but if you don’t have residence permit there, you are advised to apply for a work Z type in your home country.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have a residence permit in HK. I was told that I will stay there for 3 days at a hotel. Is it possible that they would issue me a residence permit in HK in 3 days? Thank you in advance for your help!
