I'm in China now on an USA L Visa and was told I need to get a marriage Visa or a Q1 Visa

I'm in China now on an USA L Visa and was told I need to get a marriage Visa or a Q1 Visa, do you need to have a body check for the Q1 Visa?

No. But after you successfully get the visa, you need to change it to a resident permit, when a body check is required.
