Flying from Hong Kong to GZ return on British passport, can i use 72hr waiver ?

British passport. I want to fly to GZ or use the train if possible and stay for 2 days. Can I use the 72 hour visa waiver if I have a return flight to HK and then a flight from there to Taiwan ?

No, you cannot get the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou if you take train to Guangzhou from HK, or go back to HK after you visit Guangzhou.
If you want to use the free transit in Guangzhou, you should travel like HK (by flight)-Guangzhou-Taiwan-HK.
