Canadian citizen working in Japan: visa to visit China

Hi! I have a Canadian passport and am working in Kyoto, Japan with a working visa. I am planning to visit China from Apr 7-15 this year and was wondering if I need a visa for this short visit.

(1) If yes, when should I apply? Like 2 months before I leave or something?
(2) What materials do I need to gather for my application?
(3) Can I apply online?
(4) Besides paying in person at the embassies, are there any other ways I can pay? Like furikomi from my local bank?

Sorry for the many qns!!

1. Michelle, you are advised to apply for it one month prior to your trip.
2. You need to provide your work permit in Japan, your passport and its photocopy, a filled-out application form affixed with a passport-style photo, round trip air tickets, and hotel booking record.
3. You cannot apply for it online.
4. The CVASC accepts cash, Debit Card, Credit Card and company cheque.

Thank you so much for politely answering all my questions!
Bearing all that in mind, I will apply directly with the centre in Osaka.

Cheers
