in spring I want to fly with my wife from FRA to BKK via PVG.

Hello,
I will use our long transit time in PVG (15 hours) to explore Shanghai. Because I have a Schengen nationality I can get a 144 h free transit in Shanghai. But my wife is Thai. Can she enter the city with me together or it is necessary to aply a transit visa for her in advance ?

Juergen, your wife will be able to enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. No transit G type will be needed then. She can enter the city with you as long as she applies for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge at Shanghai airport.
