About:China Visa

We are travelling on a Holland America cruise in March

which will be going from Hong Kong to Shanghai, then to Korea then back to Beijing. We have been given many answers re the Chinese visa, do we need a double entry visa (for Shanghai and Beijing) or do we only need a single one for Beijing. This is all very confusing.

Sandra, if your layover in Shanghai won’t exceed 144 hours when you travel like HK-Shanghai-Korea by cruise ship, you may be able to qualify for the 144 hour free transit. If so, you just need to apply for a single-entry tourist type for Beijing.
