China and Japan Cruise from Brisbane Australia.

We are doing a China and Japan cruise this year. Will be stopping over in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Do we require visa for either?

Noella, if your travel route is Australia-HK-Shanghai (within 144 hours)-Australia/Japan rather than HK, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. No visa will be needed then.
